Founded in 1962 as the first specialist tile adhesive manufacturer, BAL is the market-leaders in full tiling solutions – delivering innovative products and service solutions to all industry professionals from tile fixers, to tile contractors, architects and specifiers.

Established as the development centre for the British ceramic tile industry, Building Adhesives Ltd is part of the ARDEX Group, which is headquartered in Germany.
Our main activities are based in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent – with activities at our HQ comprising Research & Development (R&D), Manufacturing, Quality Control, Sales, Customer Services, Training, Technical Advice, Finance and Marketing.

Since the first products came to market in 1963, innovation after innovation has followed – from the first specialist cement-based tile adhesives, to the first epoxy grouts in the UK as well as anti-microbial wall and floor grouts.
Fibre Strand Technology (FST) and the introduction of the first lightweight, thin uncoupling mat system, variable setting-adhesives, fast-track systems and still we keep innovating – for example our new tile adhesive and uncoupling system in one!
It’s not the numerous awards we have proudly won for such innovations – but our focus on solutions that make it easier and faster to install perfection, to reduce installation steps and ultimately let you create tiling to make you proud.
As well as award-winning innovations, BAL supports fixers, contractors and specifiers with free training and technical support – backed with a nationwide team of Training and Technical Support managers for on-site advice or training across the country.
